the deal, in plain english.
england · walesNo account, no checkout, no clause written to be skipped. This is a personal invention lab and a front door to its films — here is what using it means, in the order it matters.
who you are dealing with (link to this clause)
cristianexer.dev is operated by Daniel C. Fat, publishing as cristianexer, from Birmingham, England. It is a personal invention lab and a front door to a YouTube channel — not a shop, not a platform and not a managed service.
Anything in this document that needs a human attached to it points at hello@cristianexer.dev.
accepting these terms (link to this clause)
Browsing the site means you accept these terms as they stand on the day you read them. If you do not accept them, the correct response is to close the tab — there is nothing here you have to agree to in order to leave.
what this site actually is (link to this clause)
A publishing surface for original builds, visible experiments and cinematic explanations. It records opinion and evidence at the time each experiment was made.
Technology moves. A note that was accurate in March can be wrong by September, and nothing here is under a standing obligation to stay current.
none of this is advice (link to this clause)
Nothing on this site or on the channel is professional, legal, financial, security or engineering advice, and reading it creates no client relationship, no retainer and no duty of care.
Architecture decisions carry consequences in your context, not mine. Test everything in your own environment, against your own constraints, before it touches anything that matters.
who owns what (link to this clause)
The text, the design system, the layout, the brand, the wordmark, the thumbnails and the generated graphics are © Daniel C. Fat, all rights reserved, unless a page says otherwise.
Quoting a short extract with attribution and a link back is welcome and needs no permission. Republishing whole pieces, reusing the brand in a way that implies endorsement or partnership, or ingesting the site wholesale into a product or dataset for redistribution is not covered by that, and needs asking first.
code and repositories (link to this clause)
Source code shown here generally lives in a public repository. Each repository is governed by the licence file it carries; where a repository carries no licence file, no licence is granted beyond reading it.
Code published on this site is an illustration of an idea, not a production-hardened artefact. It comes with no warranty, and running it is your decision.
video and youtube (link to this clause)
Videos are hosted by YouTube, not by this site. Thumbnails are requested from YouTube's image host, and every watch link opens the relevant page on youtube.com in a new tab.
This site does not embed a video player. Once you follow a watch link, what happens on YouTube is governed by Google's terms and privacy notice.
links that leave this site (link to this clause)
Outbound links point at documentation, repositories, papers and other people's work. They are references, not endorsements, and the destinations are outside my control. Once you follow one, that site's terms apply and this document stops.
how not to use the site (link to this clause)
The site is static, public and free. Keeping it that way asks very little of you.
- no attacks
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems that serve it.
- no hostile scraping
- Automated collection at a rate that degrades the service for other people is not acceptable use.
- no impersonation
- Do not present yourself as cristianexer, or as speaking for the channel, anywhere.
- nothing unlawful
- Do not use the site, its content or its brand for anything unlawful, misleading or deceptive.
availability, as-is (link to this clause)
The site is provided as it is, with no promise of uptime, completeness or accuracy. Pages can change, move or disappear, and the channel can retire a video without notice.
There is no service level here to breach, because there is no service level.
limits on liability (link to this clause)
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss or damage — including lost profit, lost data or business interruption — arising from your use of this site, or from reliance on anything published here.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
corrections (link to this clause)
Errors are corrected in place, and a correction that changes the substance of a piece is marked as one. If you find something wrong, factually or technically, email it over. Correction is cheaper than being wrong in public.
changes to these terms (link to this clause)
Updated terms are published on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the site after that date means the updated version applies. There is no mailing list to notify, by design.
governing law (link to this clause)
These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
Anything in here that reads as ambiguous is worth an email rather than an assumption.
